Glucometers (BGM)
Glucometers OneTouch Ultra are devices used for glycaemia measurement (glycaemia = amount of glucose in blood). Diabetics can measure their glycemia at home and - due to precise knowledge of actual glycemia - they can adjust insulin doses to their situation and thus - by correct compensation of diabetes - they can prevent its later complications.
System OneTouch Ultra employs the latest technology of blood glucose monitoring. It measures amount of glucose in a blood sample using electrical current formed in test strip and sent to glucometer for measurement. Test results are calibrated to plasma. It simplifies comparison of the results from glucometer and results from laboratory measurements.
OneTouch Ultra glucometers are very reliable and accurate. Their accuracy was verified in 4years study (the results of the study are available at request). The 44795 blood samples of patients were included in this study. The measurements were done on 546 various batches of test strips. The results conclusively proved that accuracy of test strips significantly exceeds the demands on the accuracy of the systems for blood glucose estimation in patients' body as defined in norm (ISO 15197)
