Glycosuria - the way of its measurement
Measurement of glucose in urine was of enormous importance in times when it was impossible to measure glycemia at home, but it is of certain value even nowadays. Especially it is good for patients who don't possess glucometer or are short of test strips for evaluation of glycemia from blood. Testing of presence of ketone bodies in urine of patients with diabetes - type 1 is of cardinal importance.
Glycosuria is measured by urine diagnostic strips. We offer diagnostic strips diaPHANŽ for self testing - for evaluation of amount of glucose, but also of ketone bodies in urine (which is of great importance for diabetic ketoacidosis detection and its treatment). Thus, both measurements are advantageously integrated.
This method of measurement doesn't show immediate situation of sugar or ketone bodies in blood, and it therefore in any case can not be used for follow-up in case of hypoglycemia. Strips diaPHANŽ for self testing can be bought in pharmacies, in medical supplies shops or in MTE company.
