There are sterile insulin syringes with fixed subcutaneous needle in the market and your doctor will prescribe for you the most appropriate size of such a syringe in order to make dosing of insulin as simple as possible for you. Nurse will instruct you, how and where to inject insulin and why to change the application place.
Insulin applicators - insulin pens and needles
Insulin pen is more comfortable, enables faster application of insulin and it is also more agreeable variant for those patients who are frightened or don't like looking on the pricking. Insulin pen can be prescribed every three years by their doctor to those patients who apply insulin often. Our company supplies pens NovoPen and HumaPen Ergo and fitting needles (NovoFine for NovoPen, B-D MicroFine Plus for HumaPen Ergo). NovoPen is produced in several variants - NovoPen 4 and 3 for adults, NovoPen 3 Demi - for adolescents and NovoPen 3 Junior for children. Insulin pens are also produced in various colors (color designs).
Insulin pumps
Insulin pumps serve for continuous application of insulin into organism, thus enabling such an application of insulin which most resembles release of insulin from pancreas. However, insulin pump is not suitable for anyone. It may mean enormous benefit and quality of life improvement for some patients, and it doesn't help at all others. In fact if somebody is treated by means of insulin pump it doesn't mean that he/she is treated better. Insulin pump doesn't necessarily ensure better compensation for everybody. Insulin pump is prescribed by diabetologist and with permission of revision doctor and can be prescribed only at specialized clinic - in diabetologic centre and in the Czech Republic this device including fitting is fully reimbursed by health insurance.
